By introducing cultural social service (Maatschappelijke Diensttijd / MDT), the Dutch government wants young people to discover and develop their talents and potential by voluntary helping others in society. An encouragement to meet, discover, learn, talk care, interact and to have social impact. The Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science appointed Studio Lennarts & De Bruijn to design their entrance, right across The Hague Central Station, with the purpose of introducing this concept to the Dutch people. We've created a clear functional distinction between the outside and inside, catching the eye from a distance while going into depth inside.
