- On The Other Side
It's easy to bend data and numbers in your benefit. It's a nifty little trick called framing. This project shows that it is definitely possible to lie with statistics. In On the Other Hand graphs and statistics from 'de Miljoenennota' are shown, together with the full date, to show both sides of the story. This allows for the the viewer to spot, at first flance, how the data has been manipulated.
This project was a cooperative assignment between the Royal Academy of Art The Hague and the Dutch Ministry of Finance about the ‘Miljoenennota’ (budget plans) of 2014.
